Breast Lift
Restore Shape and Youthful Contour
What Is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to raise and reshape sagging breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. Over time, aging, gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight fluctuations can cause breasts to lose their firmness and youthful position. A breast lift restores a more lifted, perky, and contoured appearance to the breasts without significantly changing their size.
Whether you’re looking to regain confidence after childbirth or simply address the natural effects of aging, a breast lift can rejuvenate your figure and help your clothes fit better—all while maintaining your natural beauty.

Understanding the Breast Lift Procedure
Breast lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia and takes about two to three hours, depending on the complexity of your case and whether it’s combined with another procedure, such as breast augmentation.
1. Incision Placement:
The type of incision used will depend on your breast size, shape, and degree of sagging. Common options include:
2. Reshaping and Lifting:
Through the incision, the surgeon lifts and reshapes the underlying breast tissue, repositions the nipple and areola to a more youthful height, and removes excess skin for a firmer, lifted appearance.
4. Closure:
The incisions are closed with sutures in layered patterns to support the new shape of the breast. Scars are placed strategically and fade significantly over time with proper care.
Breast lifts can also be combined with breast implants if you wish to add volume, or with a breast reduction for those looking to decrease breast size while improving shape and elevation.
Breast Lift Recovery – What to Expect
After your breast lift, you’ll need to wear a surgical bra or supportive garment to minimize swelling and help the breasts heal into their new shape. Mild to moderate swelling, bruising, and soreness are normal and can be managed with prescribed pain medication and rest.
Most patients are able to return to work and light activity within 5 to 7 days, although lifting and strenuous exercise should be avoided for 3 to 4 weeks. Sleeping on your back and avoiding underwire bras during recovery will support healing and reduce the risk of complications.
Your breast shape will continue to settle and improve over the following months, with final results typically visible within three to six months. Scars will gradually fade and become less noticeable over time.
Breast Lift FAQs
Will a breast lift increase my cup size?
A breast lift does not add volume but reshapes and repositions the existing breast tissue. If you’d like to enhance your size, combining a lift with breast implants may be the right choice.
Are the results permanent?
While a breast lift offers long-lasting improvement, the natural aging process and gravity will continue to affect your breasts over time. Maintaining a stable weight and good skin care can prolong your results.
Will there be visible scarring?
Scarring is an inevitable part of any surgery, but our surgeons use advanced techniques to minimize and strategically place scars. With proper care, scars fade significantly and are easily concealed by most bras and swimwear.
Can I breastfeed after a breast lift?
Breastfeeding may still be possible after a breast lift, especially when the nipple remains attached to underlying tissue. However, outcomes can vary, so it’s best to discuss your plans with your surgeon.
